Remove unnecessary scene objects and confirm that the intended product geometry is complete. External texture files are not guaranteed to follow the FBX through the browser’s one-file picker.
Drapery Reveal
Create a reveal from an FBX model
FBX can carry geometry and material information, but the visible result depends on how the authoring tool exported textures and other scene data.

Prepare a portable FBX
Verify the browser import
Inspect mesh orientation, separate parts, normals, materials, and the overall silhouette. The editor centers and normalizes the model for the reveal scene rather than retaining absolute source scale.
Tune the presentation
Set the camera, surface, light, shadow, and model appearance before evaluating the cloth. A readable final object view is the foundation of the reveal.
Use GLB for a simpler handoff
If the FBX depends on external textures or imports inconsistently, export a self-contained GLB with broadly compatible PBR materials and test that file in the target browser.
Questions, answered
Frequently asked questions
Are FBX textures guaranteed to load?
No. Embedded information may load, but external texture dependencies are not guaranteed in the current one-file workflow.
Does the FBX animation timeline import?
Drapery Reveal is focused on presenting imported model geometry with its own cloth simulation, not on playing a general FBX animation timeline.
