What makes a cloth reveal presentation

A cloth reveal animation is defined by the presentation outcome: an object begins covered, the fabric clears, and the finished composition holds long enough for the viewer to understand what was unveiled.

A focused browser workflow

Start with the final view you want, then work backward. Frame the object, choose a cloth size that creates a believable cover, and direct the pull away from the features that need to appear first.

  • Open a supported 3D model and let Drapery Reveal center it in the scene.
  • Adjust the cloth, pull direction, surface, camera, lighting, and presentation.
  • Record the reveal and download an MP4 on supported current browsers.

What you can control

Appearance controls help the fabric belong to the scene, while surface, shadows, lighting, and camera controls establish the finished product view. The reveal should support that view rather than obscure it with unnecessary motion.

  • Cloth size, quality, color, texture, pull direction, height, distance, and speed
  • Camera orbit, pan, zoom, surface visibility, lighting direction, and shadows
  • One-, two-, three-, five-, or ten-second recordings and common social aspect ratios

Where it fits

Use the outcome-first approach for portfolio pieces, launch assets, concept reviews, ecommerce creative, and any presentation that needs a clear before-and-after beat.

Practical limits

Cloth can catch on narrow projections or complex shapes. The practical answer may be a different pull direction, cloth size, collider resolution, or camera—not simply more simulation quality.

  • GLB is the safest choice when a model depends on embedded materials and textures.
  • MP4 export depends on current-browser recording support; results should be checked before publishing.
  • Drapery Reveal is a focused reveal tool, not a general keyframe, audio, or character-animation suite.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Do I need Blender?

No. Drapery Reveal runs in a current WebGL-capable browser and is designed around a focused cloth-reveal workflow.

Does my source model get uploaded?

During normal use, the source 3D model is read and processed in your browser. Rendered recordings and thumbnails may be stored when you use account recording features.

Is MP4 export guaranteed in every browser?

No. MP4 output is available on supported current browsers, and browser recording capabilities can vary.
