Use a 3D reveal when the mark has physical form
Many logo animations begin with flat artwork, layered effects, or a video template. That can be effective for a purely graphic mark. A 3D cloth reveal is better suited to an extruded wordmark, modeled badge, embossed emblem, physical sign, or logo that belongs inside a larger product scene.
The source geometry lets camera perspective, shadows, and material response contribute to the reveal. As the fabric pulls away, highlights can describe beveled edges and depth that a flat transition cannot show. The result should still serve recognition; motion is useful only when the mark is clear at the end.
Use the reveal for a launch opener, packaging presentation, portfolio piece, social post, or product announcement where the logo is part of the story. If the goal is only to animate flat vector shapes, a motion-graphics tool may be the more direct choice.
Prepare a logo with enough depth to read
A thin mesh converted directly from vector artwork can disappear at an angle or fail to catch useful light. Give the mark visible extrusion, clean bevels, or raised and recessed details when those choices fit the identity. Remove hidden geometry and check that letters, counters, and separate emblem parts remain legible at the final video size.
GLB is generally the safest supported format because it can package geometry, materials, and textures. A self-contained GLTF can also work. OBJ, FBX, STL, and 3MF are accepted, but material information may require attention; OBJ does not bring an MTL companion through the editor, STL is geometry-only, and external FBX textures are not guaranteed.
The editor centers and normalizes the model for the scene. Before import, make sure the front of the logo is oriented consistently and separate pieces belong near the main mark. A clean source asset saves more time than trying to hide geometry problems with camera or cloth settings.
Make material and light reinforce the identity
Material is part of the message. Chrome can suit a technical or high-energy launch, a matte finish can feel restrained, and a textured painted surface can connect the animation to a package or physical environment. Preserve approved brand colors and avoid a finish that changes the perceived identity of the mark.
Use lighting to reveal depth without sacrificing readability. Frontal light keeps letters clear, while side and rim light show bevels and extrusion. Reflective marks need highlights that trace the geometry rather than wash out the face. Dark marks need separation from both the surface and background.
Check the logo on a phone-sized preview. Fine type, narrow spacing, and shallow embossing that look polished on a large monitor may disappear in a vertical feed. Simplify the camera or strengthen contrast before adding more scene complexity.
Set the scene before adjusting fine physics
Choose the surface and background, then lock the camera angle and broad lighting direction. A straight-on composition protects wordmark readability. A slightly low or three-quarter view can give a dimensional badge more presence. Leave room for the cloth to travel without pushing the logo too close to the frame edge.
Choose a cloth color that separates from both the mark and its background. A branded fabric color can connect the opening frame to a campaign, but it should not overpower the logo. The covered silhouette should feel purposeful even before the first movement.

A diagonal pull can reveal the mark in stages, while an upward lift can work well for a centered, formal composition. Test whether the first recognizable fragment creates interest or confusion.
Sharp logo edges and deep cutouts can create collision challenges. If the cloth catches over a key letter, adjust its path, starting coverage, pull height, or distance before increasing simulation complexity. The goal is a believable clear-away, not physically exhaustive contact with every hidden edge.
Leave a final hold after the cloth clears. Viewers need enough time to read the mark, especially in silent autoplay contexts. Keep settled fabric away from the baseline and do not let a fold resemble an extra stroke or obscure a small part of the identity.
Record for each campaign placement
A vertical composition works for Reels, Stories, Shorts, and other phone-first placements. Square and portrait variants fit feed layouts, while landscape can suit website heroes, presentation screens, and wider social players. This gives the campaign range without turning every output into a different identity.
A logo reveal works when it feels like a short promise of what follows. Give the mark enough form, light, and breathing room to earn the unveiling. When the cloth leaves the frame, the viewer should remember the logo—not the settings used to animate it.
