Decide what the viewer should notice first and where the video will appear. That decision guides the camera, cloth direction, pacing, and final crop. A reveal built for a vertical feed should establish motion quickly; a landing-page or presentation clip can use more space and a longer final hold.

Motion is not automatically better than a still image. Products that depend on specifications, dimensions, or fine details still need close views and factual supporting content. Use the reveal as the high-impact introduction, then give buyers the information they need to evaluate the product.

Start with the model your team already has

Drapery Reveal accepts GLB, GLTF, OBJ, FBX, STL, and 3MF. GLB is generally the most reliable handoff because it can be self-contained. A self-contained GLTF can also work, while OBJ, STL, and some FBX files may require scene materials because their original material information is not guaranteed in this browser workflow.

Inspect the model before styling it. Confirm that the geometry is complete, the intended front faces the camera, and small components are not floating away from the main object. The editor centers and normalizes the model for its scene; it does not preserve an absolute manufacturing scale. What matters for this workflow is a readable, clean asset with a strong silhouette.

Materials should describe the approved design rather than make unsupported promises about the physical product. If a finish is still conceptual, label the final animation appropriately in its campaign context. Product visualization can be persuasive without misrepresenting color, proportions, logos, or surface behavior.

Treat the browser scene like a compact product set

Set the surface, background, light, and camera as a coordinated system. Neutral scenes make it easier to preserve product color and silhouette. More expressive environments can support a campaign mood, but they should not become more memorable than the object being introduced.

Use light to describe form. A low or side angle can add presence to a speaker, shoe, appliance, or concept model, while a slightly elevated view may communicate packaging and tabletop objects more clearly. Reflective products need highlights that follow their shape; dark products need enough separation to keep their edges visible.

Frame the ending before tuning the reveal. Leave breathing room around handles, cords, legs, and other projecting features. The final hero view is the destination of the animation, so it should work even as a still frame.

Use cloth to create anticipation, not delay

The drape is a visual promise. Its color, apparent weight, size, and pull direction establish the mood before the object appears. A darker, slower cloth can feel ceremonial; a brighter, faster pull can suit short-form consumer content. Contrast is more important than decoration—the covered form and revealed object both need to read clearly.

Adjust pull speed, direction, height, and distance around the product's shape. A diagonal path can expose a product in stages, while an upward path can keep a centered composition formal. Test the widest part of the object carefully, especially when it includes handles, open cavities, thin fins, or cables.

Use cloth segments and collider resolution where visible interaction needs refinement. Higher detail can improve folds or contact but demands more processing. Judge quality at the size and duration where the audience will actually watch rather than maximizing every control by default.

Plan the opening, reveal, and final hold

A useful reveal has three readable beats. The opening frame establishes the covered shape. The cloth movement creates a clear moment of change. The ending holds the exposed product long enough for recognition. If any beat is missing, the video can feel like a loading state, an abrupt transition, or a simulation demo instead of product content.

Preview the full sequence without sound because many placements begin muted. Look for fabric intersections, sudden exposure before the intended reveal, lighting changes that hide a feature, and a final cloth position that crowds the product. Adjust one variable at a time and compare the result against the original communication goal.

Keep the product visible and accurate throughout the payoff. If a camera move or dramatic light hides the feature the launch is meant to introduce, simplify the shot. Clear visual hierarchy usually earns more attention than extra effects.

Record a version for each important placement

Recording requires an account, and MP4 output depends on the capabilities of the current browser. Choose a 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10-second recording window that leaves enough time for both motion and the final product view. Review the downloaded file before it enters a campaign workflow.
